Effective July 1, 2018, a new law enacted requires that restaurants have at least one Certified Food Safety Manager be trained in food-allergy safety and awareness. The President of the Illinois Restaurant Association recommends certification of at least three managers in order to comply with the requirement that at least one be on premises during business hours.
